South Sea cultured pearls (Pinctada
maxima)
range from 10-15 millimeters, though larger examples can reach
between 10-20 millimeters. Only South Sea cultured pearls possess
the remarkable transparency and color overtone known as “orient”,
with rainbow hues that can range from white pink, to silver pink,
through to dark gold.
